  1. Unacceptable Risk: AI systems that threaten fundamental rights and safety, such as social scoring and manipulative AI, are prohibited.
  2. High-Risk AI Systems: These include AI used in critical sectors. High-risk providers must meet strict obligations. 
  3. Limited Risk AI Systems: Subject to lighter transparency requirements 
  4. Minimal Risk AI Systems:  these systems face minimal or no regulatory obligations.
